We built DARE because of a simple frustration: you would watch a friend miss a free kick, and you would both know you could have scored that. There should be a way to write the rules, back the claim, and settle it fairly.
DARE is the answer.
What is DARE?
DARE is a peer-to-peer skill challenge platform built for Africa. Users author the DARE themselves: the task, rules, time limit, proof requirements, win condition, tie handling, and dispute path.
There are two funding models:
- Skill-Based DAREs lock both participants' stakes in escrow for a two-sided competition.
- Task-Based DAREs lock only the Darer's reward for a Performer who completes the defined task.
There are three production resolution paths:
- Answer Key for objective prompts with committed answers.
- Witnessed for live performance where eligible witnesses can signal what happened.
- Evidence for proof packets such as video, photos, screen recordings, or location-backed submissions.
DARE does not need to author the challenge content. Users create the DARE; the platform provides escrow, Court presence, timing, evidence handling, dispute review, and settlement.
Why Africa?
Africa has the fastest-growing mobile gaming community in the world. Nigeria alone has over 30 million active mobile gamers. Yet there is no platform that lets people put skill, proof, and fair terms into one trusted flow.
We're starting with Nigeria and Kenya, two markets where mobile money, competitive culture, and digital-native youth overlap.
How it works
- Create a DARE: pick a category, choose Skill-Based or Task-Based, and write the constitution.
- Escrow locks: Skill-Based locks both stakes; Task-Based locks the Darer's reward.
- Court runs: participants answer, perform live, or submit the proof required by the constitution.
- Settlement follows proof: Answer Key, Witnessed, Evidence, or blinded review outcomes release payout or refund through server settlement.
What makes it different
Most betting platforms rely on chance or outcomes you do not control. DARE is different. Every DARE must be tied to a skill, task, or proof standard the users can understand before escrow locks.
